Bobbie Ann "Babe" Melton, age 84 of Corbin, Kentucky, was born on April 17, 1940, in Kayjay, Kentucky, and passed away on February 3, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Bobbie was a woman of incomparable strength, compassion, and grace. She was a homemaker whose life was spent working beside her husband where she was affectionately known as "The Pump Lady." Her life was a testament to her faith, lived out through her membership at the Calvary Baptist Church of Corbin, Kentucky.
Bobbie was a homemaker by profession, but her heart was in the simple pleasures of life. She found joy in gardening, horseback riding, painting and reading. Her love for her grandchildren was paramount, as they brought unparalleled joy into her life. Bobbie was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother who taught her family the value of kindness, patience, and unconditional love.
Her legacy will live on in the lives of her loving husband of almost 70 years, Jim Melton, her devoted children, James Harvey Melton (Connie), Rebecca Melton, Steven Melton (Barbara), Katherine Crook, and Joe Melton (Jackie), and her nine cherished grandchildren, and by numerous great grandchildren.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Nannie Hubbs, and her beloved siblings, Harley Hubbs and Sue Towe.
Floral Tributes for Bobbie Melton
Visitation for Bobbie Melton will be held from 6-9 pm on Wednesday February 5, 2025, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday February 6th at 11:00 am with Rev. Kevin Roach officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
