Rock Hill, SC – Bobbie Shetrone Vails, 64, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Bobbie was born in Vietnam and came to America on August 16, 1972. She became a U.S. citizen on January 9, 1976. Bobbie worked for many years as a programmer and Project Manager. She was a hard and talented worker who led many important projects. She loved life and had many hobbies: art, dancing, fashion, and learning new technology. Her affinity for the color purple was evident in every aspect of her life. Purple is often associated with creativity and individuality which was an expression of her identity and style. Bobbie mostly loved spending time with her friends and family and being there to support and help them in any way she could.
Bobbie fought multiple forms of cancer (breast, stomach, ovarian, and pancreatic) but her hope and resilience never wavered. She was most known for her kind spirit, strong determination, and dedication to her family. She is a source of inspiration for all and will be remembered by those she impacted.
She is survived by her two children Eric Vails and Sean Vails; her sisters Jennifer Payne, Terri Long, Betty Edwards, Susan Ryder; and her brother Michael Shetrone.
She is preceded in death by her mother Kim Shetrone.
Funeral arrangements will be at First Baptist Church, 481 Hood Center Dr., Rock Hill, SC 29730 on Friday, January 10, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. which will be followed by the Memorial Service at 12 p.m.
