Bonnie Jean Buttermore

Bonnie Jean (King) Buttermore, age 73, died unexpectedly but peacefully in her home in Morrell, on Friday morning, Sept. 29, 2023. Bonnie was born on June 20, 1950, the daughter of the late Kenneth Austin and Betty June (Trimbath) King of Connellsville. Bonnie graduated from Connellsville Area High School in the Class of 1968. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Connellsville, where she was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, and a member of the choir. To those who knew Bonnie personally, she was smart and quick-witted, who loved her family and her dog, Milo, fiercely. Bonnie overcame many obstacles as a young woman, and always had a way of making others smile. She had the gift of being able to carry on a conversation with everyone she met. She was proud to live in Morrell most of her adult life in the home that her grandparents owned and lived in until their deaths. Bonnie was known to care for family members as they aged, including her father and her aunt Jean. Bonnie loved to read, journal, and cook. She was happiest when she was cooking a meal for her family or spending a Saturday afternoon at Bud Murphy's with her children. Bonnie was the loving mother of Amy (King) Tressler and her husband Michael of Connellsville, Christopher Buttermore and wife Amanda of Morrell, and Bart Buttermore and wife, Jessica of Fayette CityA. She is the grandmother of John Ross of Connellsville, Caleb and Jared Buttermore of Greensburg, Kevin Kinik Jr. of Monessen and Talon Kinik of Fayette City, and was loved by all her extended family members. Bonnie is also survived by her sister, Mary Catherine (King) Swope, and her husband Jack. Bonnie was predeceased in death by her brother Kenneth E. King of Morrell, and grandson Jessie Austin Ross. A memorial service will be held for Bonnie on Monday, Oct. 9 at Brooks Funeral Home, Inc.,111 E. Green St., Connellsville. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bonnie's life from 4 to 7 p.m., with a service being held at 7 p.m. with Rev. Janice Altenburger officiating.
