Brandon Stephon Burgess, born November 16, 1993, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to LaTonya Burgess and the late Kenbourne Dawson. He graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School class of 2013. Brandon was a loving father to his daughter JaNyea and a devoted husband to his wife Nikita Burgess.
Brandon sang as a praise and worship leader for many years. While serving in this capacity he met his wife. Let her tell the story, with him knowing where she lived and worked, he stalked her. Let him tell the story, he didn't like her. Somehow, these two opposites attracted each other to build a beautiful life together. Brandon and Nikita did not have any children together, but he proudly accepted her daughter as his very own.
Brandon proved himself to be a wonderful and dedicated father, husband, and friend. Although Brandon has left behind a child and a wife, he will always be in their hearts and minds for the rest of their living lives.
Brandon served a committed life to ministry.
Brandon served under the leadership of Pastor Shelra & Co-Pastor Toshiba Jackson of Reviving Anointed Word Ministries for many years until he later transitioned to Victory City Church under the leadership of Apostle Tywuante & Prophetess Katissa Lupoe where he was licensed and ordained as a Minister of the gospel in October 2018 and ordained an Elder on December 11, 2021.
Elder Brandon served in many capacities at Victory City Church. He was faithful to his assignment to God and his sonship at his home church. He served as an adjutant/armor bearer for Apostle Tywuante Lupoe for many years. He also served as the Children & Youth Director where his love for the children and youth shined so vividly. Elder Brandon Burgess had a heart to build and expand the Kingdom of God through Evangelism, this passion was undeniable and caused him to transition into a God ordained role as Victory City Church's Director of Evangelism and Outreach where he served until his heavenly promotion on Friday, November 25, 2022.
Brandon was well known throughout many South Florida church communities for his beautiful singing and exuberant spirit. From childhood to adulthood Brandon has always had a passion for singing. He always found himself singing everywhere he went. From a young age, Brandon channeled his love for singing and his love for God.
Brandon was predeceased by his father Kenbourne Dawson, his grandmother Margo Burgess and his brother Antonio Johnson.
Brandon is survived by his wife Nikita Burgess and daughter, JaNyea Ricketts; his mother LaTonya Burgess, his brothers Ricky Johnson, Xzavier Johnson, Michael Murray, Stevon Dawson, KJ Dawson, Kendrick Dawson, Carlington Dawson and sisters Linda Burgess, Antrinise Snell, Brittany Snell, Jasmine Dawson, Sidney Barclay-Steele. Brandon leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and a community of brothers and sisters in Christ.
