Brenda Charlene Ward King, age 63, of Athens, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
Brenda dedicated much of her life to the compassionate care of others as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the healthcare industry. She was a cherished member of Bethsadia Baptist Church, where she found joy in fellowship and worship.
Brenda was a passionate reader and enjoyed meaningful conversations with family and friends. She is remembered for her warmth and the profound love she held for her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Ward; her beloved brothers, Roger, Charlie, and Mike Ward; and her grandson, Cody King.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Helen Snyder; her children, Michael (Michelle) King and Ashleigh King Moses; and her grandchildren, Heather, Heath, Jenna King, and her cherished granddaughter, Haley Moses. She also leaves behind her siblings, Angie (Tom) Burton and Cheston Ward; her step-sons, Cliff (Blossom) King and James Bidwell; a special cousin, Donna Bunch; her sisters in Christ and best friends, Sheila McGowan and Nadine Elliott; along with numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and extended family who will miss her dearly.
A Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in the chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Rev. Travis Shaver officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the Spring Creek Church of Christ Cemetery in Riceville. Pallbearers will be Kenny McGowan, Michael King, Heath King, James Bidwell, Ricky Beaty, and Tom Burton.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga for their exceptional care and support during Brenda's final days.
