Brendon Sarr McSmith was born February 2nd, 1980, in Plymouth, MA. Through his childhood he lived in Massachusetts and California, graduating from Berkeley High School and the University of California Davis. Serving with distinction in the U.S. Navy from 2005 to 2011, he completed rigorous training and became a beacon of hope and safety for his fellow servicemen as a SARC in the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion. Brendon's expertise in combat medicine and tactical proficiency saved countless lives during his career, earning him the respect and admiration of all who served alongside him.
The memory of Brendon's service and sacrifice will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing and serving with him. Brendon's legacy serves as a testament to the noblest qualities of the warrior spirit, with a profound impact of his service to our nation.
Beyond his professional achievements, Brendon was known for his compassionate nature, intense curiosity, and unwavering loyalty to his family & friends. He was a source of strength and inspiration, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement, even in the face of adversity.
Brendon never met a stranger and had a magnetic personality. He was witty and sharp tongued, but also had the biggest and most giving heart of anyone around. The loss of Brendon leaves a void in our family that can never be filled. We mourn his passing while celebrating a life lived with honor, courage, commitment, love, and laughter.
Brendon loved martial arts, shooting at the range, making salads and salsas, and entertaining friends. He was a natural comic and a loyal friend with a large circle of both civilian, active duty and retired military buddies. Along with his friends, he leaves behind his saddened mom Deborah, his partner Debbie, aunts, an uncle, and several cousins to cherish his memory and remarkable talents.
We love you, Brendon.
