Alice Deneice Dearing McSmith of Tow, TX, known affectionately as Deneice by her loved ones, was called to her eternal home on August 13, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on December 23, 1954, at Shepperd Hospital in Burnet, TX, Deneice's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, and her dedication to her community.
Deneice was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. Her infectious laughter and warm, welcoming nature made her a cherished friend and confidante. She was born to the late Eurial Roy Dearing and Ouida Jueva Cook Dearing, and though they preceded her in death, along with her brothers Eurial Roy Dearing Jr. and Johnathan Lee Dearing, their legacy of love and strength lived vibrantly through her.
After attending Leander ISD, Deneice began working in the office of Dearing Automotive alongside her father. Her keen mind and diligent work ethic made her an invaluable part of the family business until her well-deserved retirement. It was during this chapter of her life that she met her soulmate, Ronald McSmith. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership filled with mutual respect, adoration, and unwavering support.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in the form of her devoted husband, Ronald, her sister Paula Dearing Strong and her husband Charles, her sons Eurial Joe "Joey" Smith and his wife Kassie, Joseph Justin Smith and his wife Veronica, and her granddaughter, PaisleyJo Smith. Step sons, Richard Corey McSmith and Ronald Shayne McSmith; Step grandchildren Cody Edwards and wife Cassie; Chance Edwards and wife Kira; Dakota Edwards; Rene and Sebastian Kopecky; Harrison Smith; Tamara Keithie and Michael James McSmith. Step great grandchildren, Chad, Madyson and Olin Edwards; Emberly McSmith; four nieces, Starla Hicks-Dishman, Erica Metcalf, Kendra Way, Kristy Dearing and their families all who loved her. Deneice's role as a wife, sister, mother, and grandmother was the most profound of her life, and she embraced each moment with grace and enthusiasm.
Deneice's interests and talents were as varied as they were impressive. She spent countless hours camping and fishing with her sons and their families, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her love for baking was matched only by her extraordinary talent for cake decorating, a skill she honed without any formal training. Her hands were rarely still, as she crafted numerous beautiful and whimsical creations, many of which are now cherished heirlooms among her family. She really enjoyed taking her parents to play bingo back in the day and continued playing games like bingo, poker and dominoes with family and friends up until she passed.
In her later years, Deneice found immense joy in the presence of her granddaughter, PaisleyJo. Their bond was special and filled with laughter, love, and countless precious moments that will be held close to the hearts of all who witnessed their connection.
Deneice's journey on this earth was a beautiful tapestry woven with faith, love, and service. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is now at peace in the loving embrace of our Lord. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light for those she has left behind, and her memory will be etched in our hearts for eternity.
A Celebration of Life will be hosted in Tow at a later date.
