Brett Howard Warner, 38, left this world on March 27, 2023, after spending a beautiful day snowmobiling in one of his favorite places, the Ault family property in the mountains doing what he loved to do.
Brett was born April 2, 1984, to Jeff and Sherie Warner. He was the third child of six children. His brothers and sisters love and adore him. He grew up in
Pleasant Grove, Utah, surrounded by friends and family. He attended school in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He loved his family, animals, the outdoors, a good sunrise or sunset, hunting, snowmobiles, motorcycles, side by sides, helicopters, boats and anything else adventurous. He was also a patriot and flew the American flag proudly.
He married the love of his life, Stacey Cox on April 18, 2009, in
Highland, Utah. They have four beautiful children who are Brett and Stacey's whole world; Brighton Ava, Aspyn Jane, Charlize Everly and Parx Hap. Brett was a family man. He loved his kids fiercely and was an amazing father. Brett and Stacey took their kids everywhere with them. You could often see one or more of the kids riding along with Brett in his semi trucks. He did everything for his kids. They were his world, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for them. If they wanted a pig, a dirt bike, 29 chickens, a pony or a snowmobile, he would get it for them.
Brett was "ONE OF A KIND." He had the biggest heart, and he lived his life to the fullest. If he had a motto it was "Work Hard, Play Harder." No one could ever get ahead of Brett because he was always one step ahead of everyone. There was nothing he couldn't do; no dream was too big for him. He fought hard for those dreams, and nothing was ever out of reach for him. If he couldn't figure out how to fix something, he knew someone who could help him figure it out. "He had a guy." If he had duct tape, wire and a lighter, he could fix it. When he was little, he would take apart anything just to see how it worked.
Brett's work ethic was unmatched. He started laying sod for the family business when he was in elementary school picking up scraps and doing anything he could. At 15 he was pretty much running the sod crew. As soon as he was old enough to get his CDL and drive the semi trucks he worked delivering sod. He got the idea to start his own trucking business and went to his Grandpa Ault to borrow the money to buy his first dump truck. His wise grandpa told him to go get a loan because it would make him a more dedicated business owner. He got a loan, bought his first dump truck and worked hard to make Warner Transportation a successful trucking company. He eventually increased his business to twelve trucks. He was always grateful to his Grandpa Ault because he taught him that it was a privilege to be a business owner and Brett treated it as such. He knew how to sacrifice and work hard to build his company. He was not afraid to work hard, and it was not unusual for him to put in 12 to 18 hours of work at the yard every day.
Brett did more in his short 38 years than most people can fit into a lifetime. He made so many amazing memories and invited anyone he knew to join in on the adventures. Lake Powell on their yacht was his favorite place in the summer. On almost any summer holiday you could find Brett and his family and friends enjoying the beautiful lake. He spent hours at the back of the boat with his arms stretched out teaching others to surf. He loved the mountains and nature, especially the family property in Ophir. In the winter you could find him on his Snowmobile or snowboarding with his kids. He bought his first snowmobile with his own money when he was 14 years old. He could snowmobile with the best and there wasn't a mountain too tall for him to try to climb. He loved hunting both here in the mountains he loved and in Mexico. Mostly, he enjoyed the beauty around him, but he was always excited when he would get the "Big One."
Although Brett was opinionated, stubborn and it was his way or the highway, Brett was good to the core and he had an unconditional desire and ability to love and serve others. Everyone could always count on Brett. He was always willing to help and was the first there to help no matter the time of day or night or how awful the task was. If you were lucky enough to know Brett, you were a recipient of his service because he gave to all.
Brett was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He knew his Savior, Jesus Christ, because he served others as He did. There was no one who served better than Brett did. You might not have seen him in church every week, but he loved his Heavenly Father and his Savior, Jesus Christ. He had a testimony of their love for him and we know that he was welcomed into their arms and the arms of those who love him who have gone before him.
He will be missed by so many that he left behind, and are not sure how we will navigate this life without him in our lives. He leaves behind his parents, Jeff and Sherie Warner, his adoring wife, Stacey and four loving children, Brighton Ava, Aspyn Jane, Charlize Everly and Parx Hap. His siblings: Ryan and Brea Warner, Aimee and Josh Carter, Nichole and Cody Burdett, Jonny Warner and Brittany and Kolten Giles. 23 nieces and nephews who love and adore Brett, Grandmother Diane Warner, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Lurae Ault and Paul and Dottie Warner.
We want to thank everyone for the acts of kindness and service that have been given to our family in this time of tragedy for us. All the prayers, cards, texts, food, everything that you have all done to help ease the burden, have not gone unnoticed.
Brett promised us he would have his own helicopter some day. Instead, he graduated to something better. Whenever we see a helicopter we will know Brett is there watching over us.
Fly High, Buddy.
