Brian K. Binning, a beacon of love, humor, and wisdom, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, in Mishawaka, IN, at the age of 84. Born in Lincoln, NE, on May 10, 1940, to the late Kenneth and Ruby (Salisbury) Binning, he carried the heritage of his family with pride and affection throughout his life.
Brian's educational journey culminated with a bachelor's degree that opened many doors, both professionally and personally. After he retired from the banking industry, he became a traveling tennis umpire. He loved his second career and the friends he made. He was a deacon, elder, choir member, and a treasurer for 7 years at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church.
He was a cherished husband to Mary Lue (Bottum) Binning, a loving father to his daughter Gretchen Kirkland of Granger, and his son Bret (Brenda) Binning of NC. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Mattie, Kevin, and Jesse Kirkland, as the embodiment of kindness.
Brian leaves behind his caring sister, Barbara Hixson of Lincoln, NE. His memory will also be treasured by his nieces Jennifer Carney and Jeri Sue (Eddie) Blackwell, as well as his nephews John (Debbie) Hixson and Mark Bottum. His gentle wisdom and unconditional love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
