Brian Michael Costella

Brian Michael Costella, Sr., age 58, of York, passed away at home on October 26, 2024. He was the loving husband of Mary Jane (Mendiola) Costella; together they shared 9 years of marriage.
Brian was born in York, PA on September 23, 1966. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and worked as a mechanical engineer and National Chess Federation Director. As a chess enthusiast, Brian enjoyed teaching chess and hosting tournaments. He also enjoyed motorcycles as well as traveling all over.
Brian is survived by his children Brian Costella, Jr. and Valerie; his stepchildren Hyro and Honey; and his grandchildren Cataleya, Ahmedin, and Ilhana.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Brian's life will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 1:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402 with Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant Donna Hoffman officiating. Inurnment will be held privately by the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 12:00PM – 1:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Brian's memory may be made to Center Square Chess Club.
