Brian David Dunbar, 47, was born on April 27th, 1977, and passed away peacefully on February 17th, 2025.
Known for his infectious smile and his ability to make anyone feel welcome, Brian had a unique gift for creating connections with those around him. He never met a stranger, always offering his hand and heart to those in need.
He was a graduate of IU Southeast, St. Xavier High School and St. Raphael. He was widely known for his accomplishments as a world class remote control car racer, having placed in the top 10 of three world championships, in addition to being a loyal supporter of his local race track at Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany, IN. Brian was a lifelong U of L fan and had a love for the game of golf, having achieved 4 holes-in-one.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jim and Christine Dunbar; and Alma and Lawrence Layne. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Stephanie Harris (Terry); father, David Dunbar (Bebe); daughter, Eden Gilbert; brother, Charlie Harris (Katie); sister, Cortney Bevilacqua (Alex); and girlfriend, Kelly Morrison. He was a devoted son, father, uncle, brother and friend to many.
Brian's visitation will be Thursday, February 27th from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. His funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 28th, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Drive.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial gifts be made to Hoosier RC Hobbyplex via https://gofund.me/3ad5265f or mailed to 2616 Charlestown Rd., New Albany, IN 47150.

Stephanie and Terry, I am saddened and sorry to hear of your son's passing. Although I didn't know your Brian, it's obvious that what was written about him sounds like the wonderful parents I do know. Both warm, kind and genuinely good at heart. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs.
