Obituary of Brian James Dunphy
Brian J. Dunphy, age 51, of Burlington, formerly of Woburn, and Tewksbury, passed away suddenly of a heart attack after shoveling snow on January 20, 2025.
Born in Framingham, MA on September 24, 1973, he was the beloved son of James P. and Cynthia (Koop) Dunphy. Brian was a graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1991. Following his education, Brian went on to work as a skilled autobody mechanic, first for Tom's Collision for over 15 years, and most recently for Gagnon Auto in Billerica.
In his free time, Brian loved nothing more than mixing his work life with his personal life. Cars were a huge part of his life, and he made it his mission to be talented at every aspect of working on them. Being self-taught isn't easy, but Brian was seamlessly able to teach himself most of the skills he needed to have. Whether he was restoring old cars, repairing the body, or painting, Brian was able to do everything with aplomb. He had a gift when it came to bringing new life to old cars, and every repair he worked on always came out mint and looking brand new. When Brian wasn't tied up with cars, either at work or at home, he loved getting caught up with New England sports. He was an avid Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox fan and would try and catch a game every chance he could. Above all else though, Brian loved his family and friends-and his yellow cobra mustang-more than anything. Whether he was just keeping company with his Mom or going to the grocery store and running errands, Brian was a loving presence who will be deeply missed.
Surviving Brian along with his beloved parents James and Cynthia, is his sister, Dianna Wright of Angier, NC; his nephews and niece, Alexander Minichiello, Benjamin Minichiello, and Elizabeth Wright, as well as many other dear relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visiting hours on Wednesday, January 29th from 4pm to 6pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one's favorite charity.
