Brian D. Holt, born on September 27, 1967, passed away on July 14, 2024. He was surrounded by his loved ones in his final days.
Brian leaves behind a loving family including his four children. Daughters Tansy Schick (Andrew Schick) and Rebeca Holt (Benjamin Combes), along with his two sons Keegan Holt (Nicole Brybag) and David Holt. Brian also has 6 grandchildren, Arianna Schick, Braelynn Schick, Emmett Schick, Sakura Combes, Xaerith Combes, and Kaizen Combes. Brian is also survived by his sister Nancy Whitehead (Jay Whitehead) along with many friends and community members. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Marie Holt.
Brian's proudest accomplishment was his children. Brian was proud of his son Keegan when he joined the army National Guard and encouraged him to pursue his dream of becoming a police officer. David aspires to become a heavy machine operator and volunteer firefighter and plans to follow in his dad's footsteps by obtaining his CDL.
Above all else, Brian's daughters Tansy and Rebeca gave him his most cherished title - Grandpa. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with all his grandchildren. He was always there to love and support them. One of Brian's favorite things to do was to spend the day with his grandchildren at Gilbert Lake.
Before his passing, Brian volunteered for the head start policy council and had recently been elected to the Opportunities of Otsego board of directors. Brian always was working on projects around his home.
In remembering Brian, his friends and family will always remember his defining personality. He was known for his unique blend of stubbornness combined with being a friendly welcoming face. Brian would give the shirt off his back to family or friends in time of need. His sense of humor and straightforward personality was endearing to those who knew him best.
Brian will be deeply missed, and this loss will be felt among his family and friends. In lieu of a memorial service, Brian's children plan to do a private get together among themselves to honor his memory.
Brian's family has entrusted his care to Edd Stanimer of the Johnston & Stanimer Funeral Home in Morris.
