Rumford - Brittany Nichole Chaves,34, beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away on April 20, 2025, at the RI Hospital Providence. She was born on May 28,1990, in Providence, RI, a shining light brought into the world by Lori Ann Chaves and Robert Martin of East Providence, and Leonard Gregory and his wife Kim of Rumford. Brittany's warm presence and loving nature will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Brittany, to her friends and family, dedicated her life to caring for others. For 14 years, she served her community as a certified Nursing Assistant, most notably at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Her compassion and kindness touched the lives of countless individuals in several facilities across the years, where her unwavering commitment to her patients earned her the respect and admiration of both colleagues and those she cared for.
Her passion for life extended beyond her professional endeavors. Brittany was an adventurous spirit who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed fishing and clamming, embracing the serenity of the ocean and the beauty of Rhode Island's coastlines. These moments of tranquility in nature were only matched by the time she spent with her beloved son, Geovani Chaves of East Providence, who was the center of her world. Her love for Geovani was evident in everything she did, and she instilled in him the same values of kindness and adventure that she carried in her heart.
Brittany's family was her anchor, and she held a special place in her heart for each of her relatives. As the daughter of Lori Ann, Robert, and Leonard and stepdaughter to Kim, she shared an unbreakable bond with them. She was a cherished half-sister to Melissa Poole and a doting aunt to Logan and Lila, who will remember her for her playful spirit and boundless affection. Brittany's Aunt Paula, along with the rest of her family, will forever treasure the memories of the love and laughter she brought into their lives.
Those who knew Brittany would describe her as loving, friendly, and adventurous qualities that were the essence of her being. Her friendly demeanor made her a joy to be around, and her adventurous nature inspired those around her to embrace life's journey with enthusiasm and courage. Brittany's love for her family, friends, and community was a testament to the depth of her character.
As we mourn the loss of Brittany Nichole Chaves, we also celebrate her remarkable life-a life lived with purpose, love, and a spirit of adventure. Her legacy of kindness, dedication to her vocation, and devotion to her family will continue to resonate with all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her journey.
Brittany's departure from this world leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will live on as a beacon of love and humanity. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Brittany's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of compassion, joy, and an unwavering zest for life, and she will be remembered for the warmth and light she brought to every room.
In honoring Brittany's spirit, we reflect on the cherished moments, the shared smiles, and the enduring impact she made on our lives. Her story does not end here, for she will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her. Rest in peace, Brittany Nichole Chaves; your memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
