Bruce Limberg

Bruce Edward Limberg, 80, of Jamestown, died Thursday November 6, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family.
A lifelong Jamestown area resident, he was born June 3, 1945, a son of the late Paul and Irma Karlberg Limberg.
Surviving is his wife Patricia Baideme, whom he married May 5, 1973; two children Annika (Taylor) Putney of Jamestown and Jared (Leasen) Limberg of Shaker Heights, OH; his grandchildren whom he adored, Holden and Britta Putney and Evelyn, Myra, Caroline and Andrew Limberg; nieces Shelley (Fred) Croscut, Sharen (Jeff) Hilt and Denise (Burnell) Penhollow and nephew Dale (Patricia) Limberg.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother P. Bryan Limberg and a sister J. Marilyn Johnson.
After graduation from Jamestown High School in 1963 he went on to earn degrees from Southern Arkansas University and Kent State University.
He taught at the University of Akron and Jamestown Community College. Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was employed for 31 years by Jamestown Public School District as a middle school Science teacher. He had a passion for teaching middle school students, who even today, still talk about his classes.
He was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, Viking Lodge, Roger Tory Peterson Institute, New York State United Teachers, and National Education Association.
Bruce was an avid fisherman spending many hours each summer on Chautauqua Lake or the pristine waters of northern Ontario. He and Pat, and later with their children, traveled extensively across the US, Canada, and abroad.
When his daughter wanted to be an exchange student, Bruce was the driving support behind her decision. That led him on his first trip overseas to Turkey to see her and travel the fascinating country.
He was involved in the Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association serving many years as the equipment manager for the beginner hockey program. Bruce spent many winters driving his son to hockey games throughout the area and could find a hockey rink long before GPS.
Bruce stayed in close touch with high school classmates and enjoyed his monthly breakfast gatherings with them.
Friends will be received from 4-7 pm on Monday, Nov. 10 at Lind Funeral Home.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Susan Center, Lakewood United Methodist Church, or Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care.
