Brunilda Castro, 86, of Iselin, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Seashore Gardens in Galloway.
Born in New York City, she lived there with her family before moving to Iselin, NJ in March 1977, where she resided with her husband Louis, until his passing in 2015.
She attended Columbia University and studied law and worked as a Legal Secretary for Ostrow and Associate for 15 years. She would later work as a court stenographer for Paul Greybel and associates in Woodbridge, NJ. Brunilda enjoyed watching musicals, Court TV, listening and singing to Frank Sinatra and the standards, reading, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a walking encyclopedia of information and would love to talk about history. She had welcomed many to live in her home over the years, friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Louis E. Castro Sr. (d.2015) and her daughter, Deborah Castro (d.1994).
Surviving are her sons, Joseph Castro and his wife Lisa Ann of Bushkill, PA, Louis E. Castro, Jr. and his wife Florence Ann of Millville, NJ, and James Edward Castro and his wife Elizabeth Ann of Iselin, NJ; Grandchildren, Natalie, Andre and his wife Tamika, Michelle and her husband Carlos, Amanda, Luke, Louis III and his wife Megan, Samantha, Deborah, and her goddaughter/granddaughter Jessica; Great-grandchildren, Anyce, Andre Jr., Joshua, Haylie, Mackenzie, Taylor, Elijah, Wyatt, and Phoenix.
