With broken hearts, we share the passing of Bryan Patrick Dunn, who left this world on September 30, 2025, while living in St. Louis, MO.
Bryan was born on October 12, 1981, in Jefferson City, MO a son of William Bryan and Rebecca Anne "Becky" (Ihler) Dunn.
Bryan was a proud 2000 graduate of Helias High School, where he formed lifelong friendships. During his high school years, he played on the Helias football team and with the Capitals ice hockey team. He went on to attend the University of Central Missouri, graduating in 2005 with a degree in Business Administration. While in college, he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
In 2012, Bryan married Missy Thoenen, and from this union he was blessed with his beloved daughter, Ihler Hazel Dunn.
Following college, Bryan built his career in landscape design and construction. What began as installing sprinkler systems during his college years grew into a lifelong profession. Over the years, he gained experience in all aspects of the industry, from selling landscaping blocks and aggregates to constructing intricate retaining walls and outdoor features.
Throughout his life, Bryan's greatest joy was being a father. His daughter, Ihler, was not only his greatest treasure but also his best friend. Bryan often said that she was "the best thing in Daddy's life." Together, they enjoyed bowling, shopping, building with Legos, and creating special memories at her dance performances, where he proudly supported her talents.
Bryan also loved spending time outdoors. His favorite activities included bicycling, golfing, fishing with his dad, and bow hunting.
Bryan will be remembered for his generous and loving heart, as well as his contagious laugh. He had a natural ability to make others feel welcome, and his life touched countless people through his kindness and friendship. Though his time on earth was far too short, the memories he created will live on forever. His spirit will continue to be felt deeply by those who loved him.
He is survived by his cherished daughter, Ihler; his devoted parents, Bill and Becky Dunn; his sister, Melissa (David) McGinnis; his brother, Matthew (Sarah) Dunn; and his nephews, Hunter and Hudson McGinnis. Bryan is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends with whom he shared countless memories and a deep family bond.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Victor and Marion Ihler and his paternal grandparents, Richard and Betty Dunn.
A private family prayer service will be held at Archway Memorial Chapel, with a celebration of Bryan's life to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ihler Dunn Educational Fund by mailing donations to P.O. Box 95, Jefferson City, MO 65102 or to Archway Memorial Chapel, 111 Taylor Road Hazelwood, MO 63042.
