Brynn "Montana" Marie Vellinga, 23, of Waterloo, IA, formerly of Marshalltown, IA passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, in Waterloo. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at First Congregational Church in Marshalltown. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.
Montana was born January 3, 2001, in Billings, MT to her biological parents, Tina Thomas and Jerry Swaggerty Jr. She lived with her dad and stepmom, Barbara, until she was later adopted by Daniel and Jeanne Vellinga. Montana graduated from Marshalltown High School. She held various jobs in the area before moving to Waterloo earlier this year. Montana was very artistic and enjoyed painting. She will be remembered for her wit, charisma, sense of humor, contagious laugh and the way she could light up a room.
She is survived by her parents; Jerry and Barbara Swaggerty, and Daniel and Jeanne Vellinga, her siblings; Amber Williams, Mike Indellicati, Sara Salinas, Thad Hockhalter, Amanda Swaggerty, Briana Swaggerty, Jerry Swaggerty III, and Nicole Vellinga Ostby, and her children, Freyja Estella Mills and Marie Ellen Mills. She was preceded in death by her mom, Tina Thomas.

Montana...You had a Smile that shined! You had a radiance about you that was contagious. The Love and kindness you displayed was genuine. I so Wish you could have stayed with us here on Earth much longer. It almost doesn't seem right. But never the less your memory will live on until we see you again in Heaven. May the light of Jesus comfort those who continue to miss you.
