A graveside service for Burlene Elizabeth Freeman, 97, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Freeman was born August 9, 1927, in Malvern, AR, and passed away September 30, 2024, at home surrounded by family.
Mrs. Freeman was co-owner of family businesses in Bastrop, including Freeman Wholesale and John’s Jeans. She later worked for Whit’s Pharmacy and received numerous accommodations as a volunteer at Morehouse General Hospital Gift Shop.
Mrs. Freeman was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was a Christian who accepted Jesus at an early age. She loved family, travel, her yard and cooking. Her kindness and generosity will long be remembered.
Mrs. Freeman is preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Archie of Malvern, AR; sister, Norma Jean Allbritton of Hot Springs, AR; daughter, Patricia “Trish” of Bastrop, LA; and grandson, John Scott Burson of Monroe, LA.
Survivors include her children, Ralph (Beverly) of West Monroe, LA, Larry (Claudia) of Crossett, AR, Janis (Jan) of Baton Rouge, LA, and Susan (Susie) of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Jason, Nick, Jeffrey, Amanda, and Derrick; as well as numerous great grandchildren.
