Caleb Laurentiu Swinford

Caleb Laurentiu Swinford of Frankfort, 29, passed away August 9, 2025, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was surrounded by family; and his passing was peaceful. Caleb was a native of Calarasi, Romania and became part of the Swinford family through adoption on June 15, 1998. He was a graduate of North Atlantic Regional High School and the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Center in Thelma, Kentucky. He worked for the United Postal Service, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and various private businesses in Frankfort. He was a former member of the Frankfort Optimist Club and attended various churches in Frankfort. He was an avid sports fan, astute political observer, and enthusiast of classic television, and he never met a stranger. He is survived by his parents, Regina and Bill Swinford (Frankfort), his brother, Ethan (Portland, Oregon), twin sister, Anika (Matthew Walker – Winchester), and Andrew (Lexington); his beloved cat, Alley; a loving extended family; and many friends. The family extends their deepest love to the EMTs and nurses, doctors, specialists, and support staff of the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit at Frankfort Regional Medical Center for their skilled and compassionate care for Caleb and his family. Friends may call at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Cynthiana Presbyterian Church. A public memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Cynthiana Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bryan Langlands officiating. A private committal service will be held in Battle Grove Cemetery in Cynthiana, where Caleb will be laid to rest beside his grandparents, Mary and John Swinford. Honorary Pallbearers are his uncles, Jim Swinford, Don Wink, and Mike Wink; his sister and brothers; and his cousin Rachel Swinford. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Donate Life Kentucky Trust, an organization dedicated to organ donation. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
