Carl D. Buffett

-- Carl D. Buffett, 61 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Ellis Hospital.
Born in Plattsburgh, NY on October 26, 1961, he was the son of David Buffett and Elizabeth (Patten) Buffett and is one of five kids.
Carl graduated from St. Johns Academy of Plattsburgh in 1980 and later went on to start and raise his family with his wife in Schenectady where he was a manager at Kmart for 26 years. He went on to serve in other store management positions and worked throughout his life. Carl was preceded in death by his brother, John Buffett.
Carl leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Shawnee (Jordan) Buffett, his two daughters, Jessica (Buffett) Carroll of Massachusetts, Allison Buffett of New York, and his son Carl Buffett of California. He is also survived by his six beautiful grandchildren, Lily, Michael, and Landen of Massachusetts, as well as Soralynn, Stephen and Ellie of New York.
Carl enjoyed riding his bike, spending his time at the gym, and visiting with his grandchildren. He was an intelligent man who loved to learn and educate others on history. He was loved by family, friends and coworkers. Everyone who knew Carl knew he was hardworking, smart and devoted to his job.
We will all miss Carl. He was a faithful husband who loved his wife and would do and give her anything. He was kind to strangers and would give up the clothes on his back to help someone in need. Carl had a dry sense of humor that well will all miss and cherish for a lifetime.
Services will take place at Light's Funeral Home, 1428 State St., Schenectady starting with a visitation on Friday from 10 am to 11 am followed by a memorial service at 11 am officiated by Carl's brother-in-law, Deacon Randy Smith.
