Carol Gough DaSilva

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Gough DaSilva, who departed this life peacefully on August 14, 2025.
Carol was born and raised in Panama and immigrated to the United States in 2005 to work as an au pair. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Jandir DaSilva, in Morristown, NJ. The two were married on December 1, 2007, beginning a life of love and partnership.
A passionate educator, Carol began teaching in 2010. She first worked in the Paterson school system before continuing her career in Orange, NJ. She was a dedicated preschool teacher who poured her heart into her work, forming lasting friendships with fellow teachers and actively participating in school activities, including art shows and community events. Since 2024, she had also been an involved member of the PTA.
Carol's greatest joy was her family. She especially cherished her relationship with her beloved daughter, Lillian Marie DaSilva, with whom she shared countless memories-from school projects to Girl Scouts activities. Carol's warmth, kindness, and generosity touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jandir DaSilva; her beloved daughter, Lillian Marie DaSilva; her Mother, Judy Tejada; her brother, Gaspar Gough, and his wife Mabel, along with their children, Marianne Gough and Gaspar A. Gough; and her mother in-law, Marie DaSilva, her sister-in-law, Susan DaSilva, and her daughter, Jade Marie Ruiz. Carol was predeceased by her dear aunt and uncle, Edith and Franklin Sarmiento.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Scanlan's. A funeral masswill be held 11 AM at St. Mary's RC Church in Pompton Lakes.
