Carol passed away peacefully to be in the arms of the Lord on July 6, 2025, surrounded by her family after a brief but hard-fought battle against cancer. She was born on September 28, 1948, to Harold and Lucille (Jones) Sova.
After graduating from Eastern High School in 1966, Carol worked in administration at Lansing General Hospital before marrying and starting her family. She later returned to LGH at one of their subsidiaries, re-entering the workforce when her children were older before officially retiring in the early 1990s. In her spare time Carol enjoyed playing cards with friends, keeping her mind sharp with puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Carol is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael, her children Traci Goulding, Todd (Jennifer) Goulding, grandsons Braden, Jacob and Noah Goulding, brother Gary (Mary) Sova, and many nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her parents and sister Connie Torok.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Bush & Jensen Funeral Home-Delta Chapel on Sunday, July 13th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on July 14th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral services will take place immediately
thereafter. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Capital Area Humane Society to honor Carol's love of the many pets she had in her life.
As we remember Carol, let's reflect on the joy she brought to our lives and the love she shared with family and friends.
