Redmon Funeral HomeTALLMADGE - Carol A. Maly, 86, went to her heavenly home on October 18, 2025.
Born in Steubenville, Ohio, to Wilmer and Gertrude Moore, Carol was a resident of Tallmadge most of her adult life. Upon graduating from Steubenville High School, Carol moved to Akron and earned her RN from the Akron General Hospital School of Nursing. Throughout her nursing career, she worked at that hospital, as well as in the offices of several area doctors.
She married her soul mate, Neil, on April 15, 1961, and they celebrated 63 years of happy marriage before he preceded her in death in April 2024. Carol was an active member of the Tallmadge community, serving as PTA president at Munroe Elementary School, coaching softball, and volunteering often as a Tallmadge High School band chaperone. She was a former member of the Tallmadge Congregational Church.
Carol was a loving mother to her three children; Karen Watson, Susan Yeager (Doug), and Marc Maly, who will especially miss her ornery comments, her thoughtful ways of making Christmas special, and her royal wave. Her legacy will live on in them, as well as in her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who were perfect in her eyes. She will also be missed by her sister, B.J. Fairhurst, of Wooster; her brother-in-law, David Maly, of Medina; several nieces and nephews, and some of the best friends and neighbors anyone could want.
Calling hours will be held at Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 1 to 3 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow.
Should friends desire, donations may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 East Market Street, Akron 44308.
