Carol Anne McPhee passed away in Providence, Rhode Island, on Friday May 23rd. She was 84 years old.
Carol was born Carol Frueh to George and Charlotte Frueh on June 27th, 1941, in Secaucus New Jersey, where she grew up. She met her husband-to-be, Ron Paul McPhee, while working for TIAA-CREF in Manhattan during the 1960's.
She and Ron eventually bought a home in Chappaqua, New York, where they raised their daughter Carolyn and son Ron.
Carol was a proud and diligent homemaker, a devoted wife, and a loving parent. She was also a master seamstress. When her children were old enough, she co-owned "The Threadneedle Shop," a sewing store in downtown Chappaqua.
She had both a sharp wit and an endearing spirit. She and her husband made many lifelong friends while living in Chappaqua, and many more after retiring to Somers, New York.
After her husband passed away in 2018, she moved to North Kingstown to live with her son at a former chicken farm. She loved discovering the new restaurants and shopping the area had to offer. She also continued to sew, and loved watching all the wildlife that would visit their home. Her last years were very happy.
Carol is survived by her daughter Carolyn Doan and her husband Jim Doan, her grandchildren James and Charlotte Doan, her son Ron McPhee and his wife Donna Hayes McPhee.
There will be a private family burial service in Somers, New York.
