With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Carole Darlene (Jones) Heaps, the matriarch of our beloved family, on August 2nd, 2025. Carole was born on November 8, 1935, in Boise, Idaho, and was the oldest of three daughters. Carole married Dan Rulon Heaps in the Los Angeles temple on Aug 13, 1959, and was a devoted wife to him for 58 years. Carole leaves behind a strong legacy of faith, kindness, and love. She was a devoted member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who found joy in temple service and loved the Lord deeply and exemplified His teachings in all she did. Carole was quick to laugh and never met a dessert she didn't like, or one she could resist. She loved playing the piano, singing in the choir, roller skating, and swimming. Above all else, her greatest joy was found in her beautiful children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether big or small, if it mattered to them, it mattered to her. She was always excited to help her kids accomplish their goals and create the best childhoods she could for them, filled with love and unforgettable memories. Carole was a gentle spirit who made everyone around her feel loved, seen, and important. None of her family will ever doubt how deeply she loved them. Carole was preceded in death by her cherished grandparents, Rena and Albert Blair; her parents, Alice and Howard Lithgow; her husband, Dan Rulon Heaps; her sister, Marilyn Novak; her son and fourth child, Daniel Raymond Heaps; and her grandson, CJ Smith. As the mother of five children and one foster child, Carole's love and devotion knew no bounds. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Spicer; Diana Schultz (Rod Jr.); Renee Smith (Chuck); Valerie Heaps; and Rob Bradley (Lesley). Her 17 grandchildren, in age order, were a source of immense joy and pride: Rodney Schultz III, Kevin Spicer, Carissa Smith, CJ Smith (deceased), Jamie Watts (Patrick), Tiffany Hughes (Justin), Branden Heaps, Trevor Heaps (Lindsey), Ashley Madrigal (Kevin), Tyler Heaps, Kaylee Decker, Averile Heaps, Ashton Heaps, Adele Bradley, Rebekah Velez (Dylan), Emily Campbell (Bryce), and Megan Lara (Alex). Carole was also the proud great-grandmother of 14: Rodney Schultz IV, Colton Schultz, Noah Madrigal, Tayden Schultz, Luke Madrigal, James Watts, Jaxson Watts, Bennett Hughes, Piper Velez, Peyton Velez(deceased), Henry Velez, Scot Campbell, Lennox Lara, and Weston Velez Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th at the LDS church 105 w Fishburn Drive, Brigham City, UT 84302.
