Rose M. Heaps, of Lock Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at UPMC Lock Haven Hospital. She was born on May 13, 1946, the daughter of the late Garnett and Arithina Bobbitt. She was married to Frank Heaps who preceded her in death.
Rose spent many years living with her daughter in Port Matilda, where she was a devoted member of the Port Matilda Baptist Church. Later, she moved to Bellefonte and attended the Living Hope Alliance Church.
As her health declined, Rose became a resident of Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Senior Living. She embraced her time there, making new friends and actively participating in the many activities offered.
Rose found joy in life's simple pleasures - working on crossword puzzles, coloring, and taking long walks, especially with her beloved dog. She cherished being outdoors and eagerly awaited the warm weather so she could relax on the porch.
She is survived by her four children: David Payne (Peggy) of Coatesville, PA; Rosemarie Peters of Bellefonte; Renee Russo (Kenny Sr.) of Bellefonte, and Jennifer Heaps of Coatesville. Rose was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren: Ashley, Kenny Jr., and Delores Rose.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Clara Ghaner and one granddaughter, Samantha.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Living Hope Alliance Church, 321 E. Howard St., Bellefonte, PA, with Pastor Byron Ziegler officiating on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help cover unexpected funeral expenses. Contributions may be made to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, P.O. Box 288, Milesburg, PA 16853, or by calling 814-355-7551 to donate by debit or credit card.
Arrangements are under the care of Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc., in Milesburg. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.daughenbaughfuneralhome.com.
