Galloway & Sons Funeral Home - BeevilleCarolina (Rivas) DeLeon, a cherished member of her community, peacefully departed this life on November 10, 2025, at her home in Beeville, Texas, just two days after celebrating her 92nd birthday.
Carolina was born November 8, 1933, in Karnes City to Adela (Resendez) and Santos Rivas, Sr. Throughout her career, she made significant contributions in both housekeeping and the medical field, reflecting her diligent work ethic and compassionate nature. Her commitment extended beyond her professional life; she was a devoted homemaker who embraced the joys of cooking, caring for children, dancing and sewing. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Pawnee, where her faith and commitment to community were evident through her active participation.
In addition to her parents, Carolina was also preceded in death by five brothers, Santos Rivas Jr., Amado Rivas, Martin Rivas, Israel Rivas and Raymond Rivas; and three sisters, Minerva Prieto and Maria Alaniz; and a sister-in-law, Juanita Rivas.
Survivors include a son, Juan DeLeon; a daughter, Celia Segovia; grandchildren, Tammy Jo DeLeon, Misty Ray Govella, Marilyn DeLeon, Rick Jason (Laure), Oscar, Javier (Michelle); great-grandchildren, Johnathon, Jade, Daelynn, Daniella, Daniel, Haven, Tiffany Nicole, Julie and Joe Angel; and great-great-grandchildren, Johnathon Jr., Aji, Kyleigh, Addy, Joevanni, David Jr., Amir, Myles, Dayson, Isabella, Rosalina, Silas, Javier, Emeric, Josiah and Mateo.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 o’clock led by Pastor Isaac De Los Santos.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 13, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee with Father Ryszard Zielinski officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Pawnee.
Pallbearers will be Jason Reyes, Johnathon Rodriguez, David Gomez, Tammy DeLeon, Daelynn Rodriguez and Haven Gutierrez.
