Carolyn 'Carol' Marie Jaycox, age 83 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 16, 2025 with family by her side. Carol was born January 20, 1942 in Bellflower, California to the late Orson R. Griffin, Sr. and Mamie R. (Harrison) Griffin.

Carol grew up in the Los Angelas and Oakland, California area for many years. After having her three children, Carol went back to school to finish her high school diploma. In 2007, Carol moved to Joplin from Aurora, Colorado to be closer to family and continued working with Denny's before retiring with over 25 years of service.

In 1991, Carol married Dwight Jaycox in Reno, Nevada. In her 60's, Carol received her CDL and together they drove big rigs throughout the country. Dwight passed away in 2024.

Those left to mourn her passing include her three sons, Carl W. Norris (Deanna) of California, David S. Norris and Curtis R. Norris, both of Joplin; grandchildren, Lacy Higley (Jeff), Scott Norris (Bri) and Shane Norris (Tedrah); numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Darla Amos, Bonnie Smith, Delores Johnson; brothers, Donald Griffin and Douglas Griffin.

Carol was additionally preceded in death by 7 siblings.

Graveside services are planned for Monday, August 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fasken Cemetery near Carthage, Missouri. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24th from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the mortuary.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
