Carolyn J. Normington, 85, of Portage Lakes went home to be with the Lord, June 29, 2024. She was born in Portage Lakes September 28, 1938, to the late Donald and Evelyn (nee McDermott) Schieb.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She cared for her husband, William, until the end. She was always there for her two boys John and Christopher.
After graduating high school, she started working, got married and had her boys. She was a stay-at-home mom for several years. Raising her boys was her pride and joy. When they were old enough for school, she went back to work and retired from Norton Performance Plastics as a buyer.
She loved animals (especially cats), being outside, reading, flower gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, painting, golfing and going to flea markets. She always loved getting really cheap deals at the flea markets.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; sister, Sally. She leaves behind her sons, John (Ingrid) grandchildren Love, Rylee, Christopher (Michelle); grandchildren, Jordan, Fiona, Nicholas, Maya (Jacob) and sister Evelyn.
Cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
