Case Holmes

Case Ardell Holmes, returned home to our Heavenly Father unexpectedly Friday December 16, 2022. There are no words to express the heartbreak and emotions we are feeling at this time. Case was loved by everyone he came in contact with and befriended so many in his short life here on earth. He was an incredibly patient, funny, caring, hardworking, respectful, and talented boy. He had a heart of gold.
As a toddler, Case was taking apart and building anything he could get his hands on. He had a fascination for how things worked, which continued throughout his entire life. He was such a talented boy. Growing up, he played baseball, soccer, basketball, wrestling and football. Many of his coaches made a tremendous impact on his life. He developed a great love for Baseball. You could often find him throwing a ball in the yard or bantering with his brother-in-law, Trae, about their Baseball teams and rivalries. Case attained a love of the outdoors from his namesake, his Grandpa Ardell. His Grandpa taught him to bait a line and shoot a gun from a very young age. They spent countless days on the river or in a blind making memories together. In addition to these hobbies, Case rode dirt bikes, snowboarded, rode mountain bikes, built BMX ramps all over the farm, welded, played pickleball with friends, fixed cars, was an avid collector, cared for animals, and was a great swimmer and an amazing artist. Case worked on the dairy farm with his Dad, Greg, milking cows, working the fields, and completing various farm tasks. He was a country boy through and through.
Case was a Senior at Box Elder High School. He was on track to graduate with high honors, earning a 4.0. He took Concurrent Enrollment Courses, AP and Honors Classes, and attended Bridgerland Applied Technical College. He was a gifted student. Case had been granted a scholarship to Utah State University, his parents' alumni school. He was a member of the FFA and attended Seminary. Case participated in the Boys Scouts Program beginning at the age of 8. He was working towards finishing his Eagle Scout Project.
Regardless of who you were, Case accepted you and was a friend to all. He had an incredible way of maintaining, strengthening, and gaining friendships through his short life here on earth. His friends had an incredible impact on the man that he became and were an integral part of his life. He had many friends that were more than friends, they were his brothers. Our family is indescribably grateful for the wonderful friends that he had during his earthly life.
Case held many callings in the Corinne Second Ward. He was released from his duties as First Assistant to the Bishop and renewed his temple recommend the Sunday before he passed. He enjoyed visiting the temple to perform baptisms for the dead with family and friends. He had a desire to serve a mission since Primary and was anticipating the time when he would be able to submit his mission papers. Case had a sincere testimony of Jesus Christ and His love for everyone. He was a perfect example of Christ's love through serving those around him. We know with a surety that Case is continuing to love and serve those on both sides of the veil.
The family he left behind includes both his parents, Greg and Lindsey Holmes, as well as four sisters: Kailey (Trae) Johansson, Maegyn Ipsen, Alisha Ipsen, his baby sister Brenna, and his dog Massey. He is also survived by his Grandpa Ken (Holmes), Grandma and Grandpa Reay (Susan and Ardell), his two nephews Jett and Beck Johansson, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love him deeply.
Case was reunited with his Grandma Carole (Holmes) and Grandpa and Grandma Arthur and Ninnie (Betty) Dilworth on the other side of the veil. We have felt their love and comfort throughout this difficult time.
Our family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the First Responders and other volunteers who spent Friday night away from their families, so we could reunite ours. We pray for their recovery and healing as well. We would also like to thank the countless family and friends who have buoyed us up and provided comfort and care through this time. We have felt your prayers and testify that the veil is thin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City West Stake Center, 895 N. 625 W.
Viewings will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Brigham City West Stake Center.
Interment will be in the Corinne Cemetery.
