Catherine Margaret Bruno, 93, passed away in the early hours of October 7, 2025, at Rose Garden Nursing & Rehabilitation in Toms River. Born at home in North Bergen, Catherine moved to Old Bridge to raise her family. This happened during a snowstorm on January 10, 1960. Catherine worked as a Secretary for the Greater NY Insurance Company. Catherine could always be found in Atlantic City playing slot machines, but she was truly happy when she was around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Ambrose Church and in her youth, was an avid bowler. Catherine enjoyed traveling and liked going on cruises. She was predeceased by her parents; Frances and Katherine (Engel) Malloy, siblings; Francis, Evelyn and Harold, husband Lewis and by her granddaughter who died at birth, Rebecca. Catherine leaves behind her loving family; children, Lewis Bruno and his wife Elizabeth, Katherine DiFabio and her husband James, and Kelly Donnelly-Bruno and her wife Beth, as well as her five grandchildren, MaryKate, Kelly, Lewis, Brian and Gabriella and her seven great-grandchildren, Riley, Brent, Danny, Cameron, Stella Marie, Emilia and Bennett. Visitation will be held at Waitt Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751 on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 2pm until 6pm. On Friday, October 10, 2025, a funeral mass will be held at 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle church in Old Bridge. Catherine will be laid to rest with her husband at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum in Holmdel. Please visit www.WaittFH.com to send online condolences to the family.
