Deborah Grace McKennan, affectionately known as Debbie, passed away on October 7, 2025, in Flemington, NJ, at the age of 64. Born on March 30, 1961, in Queens, NY, Deborah's vivacious spirit and infectious love for life began early and followed her throughout her years.
A resident of Matawan, NJ since the age of seven, Deborah became a part of the community fabric, endearing herself to all she met with her warm smile and engaging conversation. Her passion for sports shone through her unwavering support of the NY Mets and NY Rangers, teams she followed with dedication and enthusiasm.
Deborah was also known for her deep love of animals. Her dogs, Daisy and Daisy 2, and her cherished cats, were not just companions but family members who added unparalleled joy to her life. She could often be found chatting away about her four-legged friends and took every opportunity to engage with fellow animal lovers.
Deborah and her mother volunteered together at Bayshore Hospital for many years. They cherished this quality time giving back to the community.
Known for her sociability and friendliness, Deborah had the unique ability to make every conversation feel significant, bringing light into the lives of those around her. Her absence will be deeply felt by those who love her.
Deborah is survived by her brother, Donald McKennan, and his wife, Jane, along with a host of cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Doris and Robert McKennan, and her brother, David McKennan.
A Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11:00am at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet, NJ.
