It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our cherished Chandra Broadnax, 51, of Woodbridge, Virginia. She departed this life on January 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
After completing high school, Chandra enlisted in the Air Force in 1994 and later earned her degree from Meredith College. Following her military service, she embarked on a successful real estate career in Dearborn, Michigan, where she married her soulmate, Leo Broadnax. Together, they established their family business, "Flat Rate Towing," and joyfully welcomed their son, Jonathan, in 2015. In 2017, Chandra relocated to Virginia to be closer to family, continuing her successful career with the Federal Housing Association.
Chandra was predeceased by her stepfather, Chuck Ellis, in 2016 and husband, Leo, in 2017. She is survived by beloved son, Jonathan, who was the light of her life; mother, Kathleen Ellis; father, Lester Wright, and stepmother, Alma Wright; sisters, Leslie Gowens (brother-in-law Andre Gowens) and Lacey Chapman (brother-in-law Christopher Chapman); brother, Patrick Ellis; nephews, Royce Scott, Avery Gowens and Levi Gowens; nieces, Destani Scott and Chace Chapman; and host of additional cherished family members.
A memorial service celebrating Chandra's beautiful life, led by Pastor Tyrone King (Higher Level Worship Church, located in GA) will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on January 16, 2025, at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, located at 13318 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge. Family and friends are warmly invited to honor a life that was a true blessing to all who knew her.
The Ellis and Wright families extend their heartfelt gratitude for your prayers and condolences. They kindly ask that you continue to surround Jonathan with love and joy during this time. Additionally, the family would like to express their appreciation to the Woodbridge Police Department, paramedics, and Ms. Debra Hollins for their support and care.
