Blacksburg - Charles (Charlie) Nathaniel Camp, 79, of New Bern NC (Blacksburg SC), went to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 5, 2025. Charles was born on August 30, 1945, in Kings Mountain North Carolina to the late Dock and Vera Kitchens Camp. He had been on hospice for the last year.
Charles was a hard-working veteran. He served his country in the Air Force. He worked hard to take care of his family. He often worked overtime and side jobs to help make ends meet. He built his own house with help of family. Charles loved to travel with family and friends. He also loved to work on his Ford Model A until his health failed him. He also restored firearms as a hobby that he passed along to his Grandson Andrew. He loved his friends and family, and he especially loved the Lord.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Melinda Gonzalez and husband, Larry Larabee, son Charles (Chuck) Camp, grandson Andrew Gonzalez, sister Lucille Williams and husband Paul. He is also survived by stepdaughter Lisa Gregory and stepson Rick Gregory. Stepson Michael Gregory recently passed away March 2,2025. He was also preceded in death by his sister Mary Frances Henson and brothers Robert and Eugene Camp.
A celebration of life will be held on March 22,2025 at 11am at Gordon Mortuary in Blacksburg, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Dad said not to dress up- he wasn't going to be there anyway. I reminded him he was getting cremated. Family does not want any flowers – your presence is our present!
