Charles E. Cokonougher (82), of Sarasota, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2023, with his devoted wife of 34 years by his side. While he left us far too soon, the impact he had on his family, friends, and community will be felt for years to come.
Charles was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 3, 1941, to Howard and Frances Cokonougher. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, along with being well known within his community.
Charles held many titles in his life and was fondly known as Charlie, Dad, Grandpa, and Uncle Charlie. His favorite role was by far, being a father and grandfather. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was the glue that held the family together and was a father figure to many.
Charles is survived by his wife Lynn, and children Kelly, Jeff, Linaya, Casandra, James, Ronald and Amanda. He is also survived by his sister Carolyn, along with 28 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Frances, and granddaughter Rachel and Maxine.
The family arranged a private viewing on December 2, 2023, at Toale Brothers Funeral Home in Sarasota, Florida.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Satchel's Last Resort Rescue and Sanctuary in Charles' name.
For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 1 Thessalonians 4:1
