Charles Larmay Obituary

Charles "Dan" Larmay, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, left this world on November 1, 2023, at his home in Wind Lake, WI. His departure was peaceful, a natural end to a life well-lived. Born on May 16, 1950, in Oconto Falls, WI, Dan was a man known for his wisdom, selflessness, and humor.
Dan attended Washington High School and completed two years of college at MATC. His passion for mechanics led him to a long and successful career as an Industrial Mechanic. Even after retirement, he was often found lending a hand, his knowledge and expertise invaluable to his former colleagues. His work was more than just a job, it was a testament to his dedication, diligence, and love for his craft.
Dan's life was enriched by his interests and hobbies. He was an avid traveler, often accompanied by his beloved wife of 46 years, Colleen. They shared countless adventures, each one a cherished memory. Dan was also a passionate angler, often seen with a fishing rod in hand, enjoying the tranquility of the Wisconsin lakes. His love for restoring and racing cars was known to all, as was his fondness for riding motorcycles. These hobbies were not just pastimes for Dan; they were an integral part of who he was.
Dan was a family man through and through. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Colleen, and a loving father to his children, Brian Larmay, the late Jill Kalivoda, and the late Scott Januchowski. He was also a doting father-in-law to Russ Kalivoda. His joy was multiplied as a grandfather to Colleen "CJ" Kalivoda and Taryn Kalivoda, and as a great-grandfather to Willow Becker. He was a supportive sibling to the late Michael Larmay, the late Richard Larmay, the late Sheryl Luedeke, Teri Erdman, Sue Grazland, the late Becky Larmay, Ron (Judy) Pokos, Pam Pokos, and Beth (Pokos) Krumnow. His family was his pride and joy, and his love for them was boundless.
Dan's loss is deeply felt by all who knew him. His laughter was infectious, his wisdom invaluable, and his selflessness unmatched. He had a knack for making people feel seen and heard, and his presence was a comfort to many. He was not just a man; he was a pillar of his community, a beacon of light and strength to those around him.
In remembering Dan, we recall a man of integrity, humor, and kindness. We remember his love for his family, his passion for his work, and his zest for life. We remember his laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering support. Even though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Charles "Dan" Larmay was more than just a man; he was a symbol of love, resilience, and strength. His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid him farewell, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Rest in peace, Dan. You will be missed, but your memory will live on
