We were close friends for over 50 years. Part of the old gang and part of the Scorpio party club. Charlie was one of my closest and dearest buddies and he will be greatly missed.

"Unheralded" not "unhealed"

Dan Burns

December 27, 2024

I read this column daily. Once again, I did not see my name here so it will be another good day for me. I did not know Charlie, our time at JCU separated by several years. But reading this about him left me thinking that here is a man who cannot go unhealed, a life of joy and wonder that sounds remarkable. How envious I am not to have spent summers with him in and around the "social scene" in Newport, a boulevardier and raconteur of great and memorable reknown. Things in common include Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Boston College, and JCU. Although our paths never crossed he's my kinda' guy. Smart, kind, and generous. Truly a "man for others", who will be missed by family, friends, and colleagues and even buy a fellow traveler who never had the privilege of knowing him. Charlie, I hardly knew ya'. But wish I had.
