Charles "Chuck" Wesley Mock of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025 following a long battle with Dementia at the age of 82. He was born July 20, 1942 in Santa Monica, California to parents Charles and Mary Helen Mock. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William "Bill" Mock of Childress, Texas.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Dorothy Sue Mock; his daughter, Lynna and husband Jon Kmetz; his grandchildren, Taylor and wife Ashley Tappmeyer and Laci Hejl; and his sister Diana and husband Skeet Garrett.
Although born in California, Chuck was raised in Childress, Texas. He withdrew from High School and obtained his GED in order to work full time to help his father at their bottling plant. He enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard March 8, 1960 and received an Honorable Discharge March 7, 1964. Chuck married Sue on May 16, 1964 and they soon relocated to Houston, Texas, where he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve and received an Honorable Discharge February 29, 1968.
Chuck began employment at Blue Bell Creameries July 8, 1974 in Houston and his daughter's friends called him "The Ice Cream Man". Chuck and Sue relocated to Conroe, Texas in 1999 when they bought land and a beautiful home. Chuck retired from Blue Bell December 31, 2006 after 32 remarkable years.
His hobbies included fishing, working on his motorcycle and tinkering with tools and projects in his garage, but his biggest pride and passion was his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and spoiling them.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bristol Park Memory Care Facility for their exceptional care of Chuck during this difficult time.
