Charles (Charlie) Payson, or Charlie to his friends and family, of Pelham, NH passed away on June 28, 2024.
Charlie, raised in Methuen, MA, was many, many things; an electrical engineer for Raytheon, a hobbyist mechanic, a jury rigging enthusiast, an avid Boston sports fan, a classic rock fan, but he was a family man, more than anything. He was always adamant about making sure he saw his family, even through bad times. He always made sure everyone around him had more than they needed, even if it left him with maybe less than he needed.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Patty; his children Trisha, Jonathan, and Chad; his brothers Paul Jr., Gary, and John; his daughter-in-law Aubrey; one grandchild, Ray, as well as Ray's mother Rachel; and countless cousins, niblings, and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Paul and Cecile, his brother Frank, his sister Cecile, and his son Mark.
The service will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, August 2 at Fay McCabe Funeral Home at 105 Moore St in Lowell, with a prayer service beginning at 4 pm.
We will all miss him immeasurably and the hole he leaves behind in our lives will always remain, leaving room for so, so many happy memories.
