Charles H. Schiffert, 92, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, in Bethlehem North Nursing & Rehab. "Charlie" was formerly of B'nai B'rith, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Pauline A. (Stengel) Schiffert. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Mabel (Fehnel) and Frederick Schiffert, Sr. "Chas" was a graduate of Allentown High School. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #576, Allentown. Charlie was a foreman at Penn Reed & Harness Co. for many years before retiring. He attended Cedar Church in Cetronia and was a member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Allentown. Charlie was an avid bowler for nearly 70 years.
Survivors: Sons: Thomas C. Schiffert, Sr. and his wife Melanie J. of Fogelsville, Michael A. Schiffert and his wife Lori E. of Allentown; Grandchildren: Thomas C., Jr., Tara L., Courtney A., Vivian M., Daniel M.; Charlie is also survived by nieces and nephews and was predeceased by siblings, Marian, George, Fred and Robert. He was also predeceased by grandsons Dexter M. and Christopher R and his companion Hattie Tirrell.
Services: 10:30 am Thursday, Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown 18106. A viewing will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 am Thursday in the funeral home. .
Contributions: American Legion #576, 1615 Sumner Ave., Allentown 18102.

Tom, Mike and families,
My wife and I are so sorry to learn of Uncle Chas's passing. Bowling with all of you is something I will never forget. I have thought of him often and will miss him very much.

"A Korean War veteran has passed away today." Charles, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
