Charles A. Smith, 57, of Binghamton, passed away July 21, 2025, in the comfort of his own home. Born in Syracuse, NY on November 28, 1967, Charlie was the son of the late Sandra Smith. He graduated from Chittenango High School in 1986 and pursued a career as a Surgical Technologist.
During his career at UHS Hospitals, Charlie took pride in training new Surgical Technologists who joined the team. Outside of work he enjoyed coin collecting and bird watching with his late wife Christine. Charlie spent his free time golfing, fishing, watching his favorite football team the Eagles and taking trips to the casino. He started and ran a golf program at Ely Park for the disadvantaged youth. Most of all, Charlie loved having a drink and swimming in his pool. He was a kind, devoted, caring husband and father, and a committed friend.
He leaves his daughters Lindsey and Logan Smith, siblings: Paul, Raymond, Dawn, Paula, Vicki, and Melanie, and several nieces, nephew
s, and cousins. Charlie was predeceased by his wife Christine Croop-Smith and his sister Jamie Smith-Sneden.
Charlie will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
