It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Stephen “Steve” Gulledge, a beloved member of the Ruby, SC community. Born and raised in Ruby, Steve embodied the spirit of friendship and joy, touching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
From an early age, Steve embraced life with an enthusiasm that was contagious. Whether he was running dogs through the woods, rabbit and deer hunting, or casting a line into one of his favorite ponds, he poured his heart into every adventure.
Steve converted everyday moments into lasting memories and had an extraordinary gift for storytelling. He was engaging and had a sharp sense of humor that brought smiles and laughter not just to his friends and family, but to strangers as well. If you were from Ruby or any of the surrounding towns, you surely knew Steve-a man whose larger-than life personality made him a pillar of his community.
The Mini Mart, the feed store, and the old pool hall held a special place in Steve’s heart. It’s in these cherished spaces that his spirit thrived, spreading joy and laughter wherever he went.
Steve was truly a friend to everyone he met, and his absence will leave a profound void in our hearts and in the fabric of our community. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and vitality will live on in the memories of those who loved him dearly.
As we mourn his loss, we take solace in the unforgettable stories he shared and the indelible mark he left on all of us. Steve, you will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
