Charles W. "Bob" Weiand, 93, formerly of Thompsontown, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg.
Born October 7, 1930 in Granville Township, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Ralph and Edna (Goss) Weiand.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joan A. (Bardell) Weiand, of Mechanicsburg, whom he married April 10, 1954, three children, Cathy J. Lyne and husband, Timothy R., of Mechanicsburg, Gene R. Weiand and wife, Deborah, of Mechanicsburg and Leslie S. Weiand of Dillsburg, two grandchildren, Gabriel Weiand and Jacob Weiand, one great-granddaughter, Lillian Weiand, and three sisters, Arlene Teel and husband, Donald, of Kansas, Iris Wilson and husband, Leon, of Manheim, and Sandra Summers of Lewistown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ralphetta Schlegel and two brothers, Fred Weiand and Gary Weiand.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army from November of 1953 to November of 1955.
He was a machinist at Telegraph Press in Harrisburg.
He attended Cedar Grove Brethren In Christ Church and he enjoyed hunting and gardening.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, at Cedar Grove Brethren In Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Monday at the church.
