Charles Ray Whitehead, age 87, and a resident of the Polkville community, died Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the St. Dominic Hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:15am, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from the chapel of the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Morton with interment to follow in the Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery. Bro. Scotty Cooper will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10am till the service time.

Charles was born to his parents Victoria Tidwell Whitehead and Boss Whitehead on May 3, 1938, in Winnfield, AL. He was a saw operator for Universal-Magnatech in Mendenhall until he retired. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Carrie Driskell Whitehead.

Survivors include his 2 children, Jimmy Ray Whitehead of California, and Alex Whitehead (Amber) of Morton, MS. He also leaves behind a legacy of 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers are Mark Driskell, Brian Driskell, Frank Craft, Jonathan Lowery, Jason Bates, Kaelan Enlow, and honorary pallbearer Seth Lowery.
