Charles Wilson Brown, 60, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021.
Charlie was born October 21, 1961, in Gadsden, AL, to John Morgan Brown and the late Joyce Ann Wilson Brown, both of Gadsden.
Charlie was an excellent athlete at Gadsden High School, where he lettered in baseball. He received an associate degree in computer science from Gadsden State Community College and attended Auburn University. He was an avid Auburn Tiger Football fan- War Eagle! He actively coached his daughters in sports and proudly helped them with creative school projects. He was blessed to be able to shoot the same low score right-handed or left-handed in golf. He truly loved attending any event where his "grandson," Clint, was participating. Charlie was a loyal worker, loved his job and work family and also loved his faithful customers at Hilbish Ford, where he proudly worked as a sales consultant for the last 17 years. He was a great artist and loved woodworking. He could build or repair anything. He always had an impeccable yard. Charlie will be remembered for his very charming, caring and loving personality.
Survivors include father, John (Ethelle) Brown of Kennesaw, GA; daughter, Melissa Raven (Tim) Hylton of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Whitney (Ross) Lampe of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Melissa Brown Herkt of Auburn, AL; sister, Joan (JR) Ingram of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Risa (Lowell) Worthington of Cartersville, GA; life partner, Penny Thompson Efird of Kannapolis, NC; Brandon (Dana) Efird of Rockwell, NC; "grandson," Clint Efird of China Grove, NC.
The graveside service in celebration of Charlie's life will be on Monday at 2:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, officiated by son-in-law, Tim Hylton.
