Charlotte Louise Hosak Liska passed away with her loving husband and younger son by her side on April 12, 2025. Charlotte was born on March 5, 1939 to Frank and Marie Hosak in Frydek, Texas. She attended Frydek Catholic School, Frydek Public School and Sealy High School where she graduated in May 1957.
After her graduation, Charlotte moved to Houston and found a secretarial job with the Employer Mutual Casualty Company where she worked for nine years. It was at this time when she met the love of her life, Edwin Laurence Liska. Charlotte waited three years for Edwin to return from his service in the army in Europe and they married on May 30th, 1965. Charlotte continued working until her first son was born. Charlotte and Edwin had two sons. She stayed at home to take care of Larry, her oldest, and Randy, her youngest. She was a devoted mother who supported both of them with their education and hobbies. She was a stay at home mom until the boys reached high school age. She then worked 20 years in the food service for the Clear Creek Independent School District.
Together, Charlotte and Edwin purchased a ranch in Runge, Texas where Edwin grew up. There, they raised cattle and enjoyed observing the wild animals and birds. Charlotte loved feeding the birds and growing flowers. When they both retired around the same time, they were able to spend most of their free time at their ranch. When they were not at the ranch, they would do other things they greatly enjoyed such as gambling, going on cruises together with friends and family and traveling around the USA and the Czech Republic.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Marie Hosak and her oldest sister, Beatrice Chalupa. She is survived by her husband, Edwin, her oldest son, Larry and his wife Dawn, her youngest son, Randy, his wife Joanna, her two wonderful grandchildren, Ryan and Audrey, her brothers Ben Hosak and Frank Hosak and her sister Mary Jane Tydlacka.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 25th at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in League City at 10:30 am with the visitation commencing at 10:00 am. The internment will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson followed by a celebration of life and reception at Red River Barbecue in League City.
