Chedomir Jovan "Ched" Markovich, 83, of Burlington, beloved husband of Gretchen (Schreiber) Markovich, passed into Heaven on Thursday (June 5, 2025) in the comfort of his own home with his family by his side. Ched was born on February 12, 1942, in Belgrade, Yugoslavia and was the son of the late Ludmila (Lepehin) Markovich and the late Jovan Markovich. His life was long and eventful, he moved as a child with his family to Italy, France, Belgium, and finally at age 14 to the United States. He spoke fluent Italian, French, Serbo-Croatian, English, and Russian. Ched grew up playing soccer and tennis with passion. He attended Trinity School in NYC and Trinity College in Hartford, CT, then went on to the banking and financial industry and later to the insurance business. Ched leaves behind his wife, Gretchen, his daughter Paris Wiggins and husband, Frank of North Charleston, SC, and his daughter, Kimberlyn of Bristol; bother-in-law: Van Schreiber and his beautiful family. Ched doted on his four beloved grandchildren: Zack and Ryan, Malaina and Mikey. The family thanks Litchfield Hospice and Funk Funeral Home of Bristol for all their caring and assistance during this difficult time. Thank you so much.
