Cheryl Jean Longshore, 64, of Newberry died Thursday, September 4, 2025 at her home.
Born on March 6, 1961 in Newberry she was the daughter of Myrtle Pitts Longshore and the late Robert Eugene (Gene) Longshore.
Cheryl was a graduate of Newberry High School, and received a bachelor's degree from Lander University. She would go on to work as an accountant for the Newberry County Auditors Office, and later the S.C. Housing Authority, from which she would retire. Cheryl loved baseball, and could always be found rooting for the Braves. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and was a former member of the Newberry Community Choir.
She is survived by her mother, Myrtle Pitts (Sis) Longshore; her brother, Horace Michael (Lisa) Longshore, and numerous beloved aunts, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her father, she is predeceased by her sister, Tina Louise Longshore.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, September 8, 2025 at Trinity United Methodist Church by Reverend Myra Taylor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held the hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
Active pallbearers will be Pat Longshore, Roger Enlow, Drayton Pitts, Chip Caldwell, Craig Kesler, and Matt Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lin Longshore, Sharon Baughman, Larry Longshore, Tammy Hendrix, Marvin Crouch, and Johnny Pitts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1160 Trinity Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108, or Percy's Angelic Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 331, Little Mountain, SC 29075.
