Chloe A. Hamblin

Chloe Anne Hamblin, 89, of Energy, peacefully passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025 at her home in Energy surrounded by her daughters.
Chloe was a dedicated wife and mother of six children. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She previously worked in the office for the church.
Chloe was a member of the Daughters of Mary and Herrin Hospital Auxiliary.
Chloe was born July 2, 1936 in Evansville, IN to Douglas and Edna (Ewers) Ames.
Chloe was married for 50 years to Fredrick Wayne "Buck" Hamblin, they married on July 3, 1954 in Evansville, IN. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2005.
She is survived by her four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Edna & Mark Russell of Energy, IL, Debra & Larry Eaton of Energy, Tammy & Mike Newbold of Herrin, IL, Susan & Kevin Taylor of Energy; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy & Cindy Hamblin of Southport, NC; grandchildren, Holly & Tony Hanford, Daniel & Lindsey Russell, Joshua & Nichole Russell, Joanie Elders, Jackie & Brandon Killion, Julie & Blane Osman, Matthew & Colleen Hamblin, Rachel & Ben Rops, Andrew & Samantha Hamblin, Mitchell & Megan Newbold, Lindsay & Jeremy Boatright, Megan Taylor & Kyle Wilson and Samantha & John Sims; 21 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen & Barbara Ames of Christiansburg, NC; sister, Cathrine Ames of Evansville, IN; two sisters-in-law, Rosanna Ames of Evansville and Karen Yates of Carmi, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher A. Hamblin; great grandson, Eugene Russell; husband; parents; brother, Doug Ames, Jr.; and sister Mary Martha Kaffenberger.
The family would like to thank Residential Hospice and Williamson County Programs on Aging and all the nurses, aides, caregivers, and staff. Chloe and her children appreciated her many wonderful caregivers who became like family.
Rite of Christian Burial Mass will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with Fr. Mark D. Reyling officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the gathering space of the church. Interment will be at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin, IL. Memorial donations may be made to OLMC New School Fund, 316 West Monroe Street, Herrin, IL 62948; envelopes will be available at the church.
